The Price of Average

You might notice the tagline in the upper right corner says “Don’t Ever Give Up”.

Years ago I read a study on purchasing agents and their buying tendencies.  One of the questions was… How many calls does it take before you buy from a new rep?  The answer was seven calls.

A few weeks later I read another study, this one on sales reps.  One of the questions on this study was… How many calls do you make on a new account before you give up?  The average was four.

What does that tell you about how much new business an “average rep” drives?

Welcome

Welcome to RevenueWonk.com, a blog about all things revenue related with an occasional detour down the dirt roads of life.  I came up with the name for this little slice of the internet after reading countless articles describing people in politics that spend most of their waking hours thinking about the ins and outs of political policy.   While I do enjoy that from time to time I really spend most of my waking hours thinking about generating revenue and driving business growth.  After a while I put two and two together and TheRevenueWonk.com was born.  Enjoy, contribute and spread the word if you like what you read.
